Dating with little dollars |

Friday is right around the corner and you are nearing the end of a long week. You have that someone special on your mind and you want to see them, but just don’t have the funds for an expensive date. Never fear! Some inexpensive date idea’s are near! No matter what time of the year, there is usually a major league (football, baseball, hockey, or basketball) game being played in an arena near you. It can easily cost $100 or more to take a date to a game. Why not take a look at some semi-pro and local college teams. Tickets for these can be about a fourth the cost of admittance into a professional game, the hot dogs are just as good, drinks are just as cold, parking is usually free and, depending on where you go, you could even meet some of the players after the game for autographs or shake their hands. The crowds are smaller, you can hear each other talk, and sit closer to the action. Are you into musicals or plays? Check out local performing arts locations and see if they have any special performances or if you can watch auditions. Many times they offer matinee pricing, which could be half the price of a night time show. Speaking of matinee’s, how about a movie? Movies can cost more than $10 per person, but many times if you go to a show that starts before 6pm, you can get in for six or seven dollars. You will see the exact same movie as those that see it after 6pm, but you will pay less. Dinner and a movie? No problem – hit the movie first (matinee price), then go to dinner. Or maybe you have a dollar movie theatre near you. If you are with the right person, just sitting on the park bench, making objects out of the clouds, and gazing into each others eyes can keep you entertained for hours. Did someone mention a picnic? Dates do not need to be expensive to be fun. Do a little research in your area and you will discover a wealth of things you can do and still remain within your budget.
